My hydrangeas. I have two bushes.
One I received when my mother passed away in August of 2003. Some lovely friend brought it over. It made my heart feel better. I was so thankful to receive the the little beauty.
The other bush I actually bought for my mother while she was ill. I took it to her in hope's of bringing her a little joy and it did indeed lift her spirits a bit. She loved it. And after she passed I brought it home with me.
I planted them side by side right outside my kitchen window and for several years nary a bloom was to be found. After a few years it finally produced around a dozen or so flowers. But not nearly enough for me to clip and give away the way I wanted to. I really wanted to clip and share the love. Pass along the beauty so to speak.
But this season... oh baby... this season was a whole different animal. I must have at least four dozen blooms on one bush.
I've given them to everyone I can think of. The neighbor's, grocery store clerks, our favorite YMCA staff members, friends, countrymen, the president. Ok, not really on the president part but you understand where I'm going. No one is safe. If I know ya... you are gonna a bunch. It's just so much fun to pass them out. I'm going to try and catch the mailman today. He's need a bunch also. I'm sure of it.
Please notice cute skater boy helping mom cut and hold flowers here. He actually loves to do this despite the look on his face. Of course it does not take away from his ultimate cool skate boy persona factor or whatever ya call it . In fact his mother thinks it only adds to it.
Anyway... this season I have been able to cut a share until my hearts content as well as keep my kitchen and home adored with the beauties.
It's been just plain spectacular! To put it mildly.
I think skater boy possibly is getting kind of restless here. Check the facial expression.
Alright dude lets take um inside.
He is such a good helper. And a good skate boarder. Have I ever told you that? Okay, good.
He even put's them in the vase for me. He's kinda of useful like that.
He will even go so far as to arrange them for me. But only for a moment. Then it's back to skateboarding for him.Ahhh hydrangea's!
There really is something magically wonderful and joyful about them.
Yes, I do believe.
So glad they bloomed like a gushing river this season.
It's been awesome!
Til next time.
