We got news that this guy was coming to town.
Mr. Andrew Cannon. He is a Professional Skateboarder for World Industries. Cool huh?
( this picture is not mine - it was borrowed from the World Industry's site)
And not only was he coming to town. Our town. He was also coming to do a little demo and Game of SKATE contest at our local skate park.
Along with our favorite place in the world to hang.
We made sure we were there for it! It's how we roll.
We were there with lots of fellow skater dude buddies.
The boys skated and I sat out in the beautiful eighty something degree weather with zero humidity. It was a dream.
Then the boys decided to participate in the game of SKATE contest.
A game of SKATE consists of two individuals doing skateboarding tricks until one of them cannot complete the presented trick and gets a letter. Sort of like the game of HORSE in basketball.
They dudes lined up to take there turns.
For a good span of time the boys (and one girl - we need more girls in skateboarding) did they're tricks.
The skaters did ollies.
Pop shove-it's.
Kick-flip's.
Varial flip's.
Boneless.
180's off the ledge
50-50's of the ledge
The kids gave it all they had.
There were tricks that were missed. But many awesome tricks were landed.
There were also brothers facing off against one another. (this is not necessarily fun for their mother) Oh the drama.
In the end it all comes down to only one dude.
And this guy came with only one prize. ( well at least for the ages 12 and under dudes)
And Mo took it. (we were very happy for him)
And he thanked this guy as best as he could with his hands full.
A fun time was had by all.I've said it before but again I say I am truly grateful for skate company's and local skate shop's who keep this such a positive sport for the kids to be involved in. And for the guys who help encourage the kids to continue skating on a daily basis. Can't thank them enough. Really.
Plus skateboarding wear's the kids out. Bonus for parents!
I was also extremely grateful for Mother Nature and her chilly evening she so graciously lavished upon us. I didn't sweat a drop. Imagine that.
Over and out.
The (loves that her boys skateboard and cool 75 degree evenings) Sideline Mom
